In Which It's Not Like These Links Believe In Everlasting Love
Sampling the Bloomberg Collection And Other Weekend Links To Share With Loved Ones

It's rare that a film and a story in the New York Post can completely change your opinion about an ever-so important political issue.
I saw Drillbit Taylor last night, and while it's better than the new R.E.M., if I want to see Leslie Mann and Owen Wilson making out, I'll press on my eye really hard while looking at Kate Hudson paparazzi photos.
gosh, you'd think my husband could get me a better part...is there a Big Daddy sequel in the offing? please?
The film did succeed in created the greatest villain bully since, well, Bully, in Filkins.
And they have to be commended for holding to the John Hughes spirit. They probably should have gone back in time and gotten John Candy to play the Owen part, but whatevs.
Drillbit makes a crucial case against gun control. Great timing, as this week marked the rise to prominence of the Bloomberg Collection, six colored handguns for every part of New York City, made by some company in Wisconsin that thinks Mayor Bloomberg is an a-hole. With guns this adorable, you simply can't afford not to shoot your local bully in the face.
We need guns back in schools, and off the streets. Unsurprisingly, the kid who plays Filkins was also in my favorite comedy, Elephant. That Gus Van Sant really knows how to get a laugh. "How do you like dem handguns," indeed.
Laws against guns aren't keeping our children safe. The boys of Drillbit Taylor lose about $5,000 in goods and cash trying to keep Filkins from bfucking them in front of the girls they most desire. This is money that could have been channeled into firearms and ammunition.
(This film also marks the umpteenth Apatow film that employs one of the members of the Upright Citizens Brigade. I am starting to think these guys weren't actually funny, and I'm beginning to think the woman in the troupe was actually Kerri Kenney.)
The basic Apatow formula has changed from, "We really need to make our movie" into "Wouldn't it be really funny if we made this movie?" If Forgetting Sarah Marshall has a tearful chase after Mila Kunis, I am retiring from Apatow.
kids wait a sec...we're scrapping this concept. wouldn't it be really funny if we did a goonies remake? who wants to be chunk?
My feelings about the band Garbage has evolved just like this as well
Shirley Manson has an album coming out before the new Garbage album, do you think that her and Lauren Ambrose are the same person but at different points in their lives? Will Lauren suddenly start doing lead vocals for the Raconteurs? What do you think my people?

Henry James is the best:
Whatever question there may be of his [Thoreau's] talent, there can be none, I think, of his genius. It was a slim and crooked one; but it was eminently personal. He was imperfect, unfinished, inartistic; he was worse than provincial — he was parochial; it is only at his best that he is readable.

Spitzer's other hooker:
"I have created a business empire where I rule," Davis wrote on her MySpace page. "It's also one I could fall, and fall hard, very much like Lucifer getting kicked out of heaven."
The source close to Davis said more high-profile names are involved. "There are some big people involved in the entertainment industry," the source said, adding that there are "sports superstars" including "a very prominent Yankee," along with Spitzer campaign contributors.
